About Us
Our Story

The idea that we were all on the same boat during the pandemic (or any other day) is absurd in a country like Mexico, where its people live in enormous inequality. Artisans are a vulnerable group which is mostly located in communities that are isolated because of its economic and social marginalization, and sometimes because of where they are geographically. This vulnerability led to many shops closing and for artisans, who practice ancient techniques, to look for work elsewhere. There is no reward to receiving and being promoters of our culture. This injustice affects not only them, but. It endangers expressions of our culture and identity.
At ALAZANA we offer artisanal products of the best quality with the inimitable character of handcrafted labor. Your preference means direct support to artisanal workshops through purchases that make them stronger, instead of charity which fades. We build spaces honoring Mexican labor.
